ToyMemories
For some reason I never really thought of Garloo as a robot...Either way, if anyone else loves Garloo, check my site here:http://members.aol.com/meinenhund/MarxFilesGarloo.htmlFor a picture of the patent drawing, some factory information on his assembly, and a nifty story sent in by Wayne Wood from AL!(In 1961, they were able to make about 1,850 Garloos a day!) Joe K.
. Here's a slightly different view of the (red) Cragstan Astronaut, this time carrying his ray rifle in the "high port" position: http://members.cox.net/botto33/coopxmas004.jpg This close-up comes from a Co-Op Electric Supply Co. 1963 Year Book catalog, whose dated cover is here: http://members.cox.net/botto33/coopxmas001.jpg The completed auction listing can be found here: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&hash=item4aa703efe8&item=320629633000&nma=true&pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&rt=nc&si=hne%252FEEX0dqBv4qIy5TSDspR95vI%253D One other interesting, full-color catalog page from that same year book: http://members.cox.net/botto33/coopxmas003.jpg depicts King Zor, Mr. Machine and Robot Commando. Note Mr. Machine. His "clear" plastic body has been tinted yellow in order to make it easier to see on the page. I wonder if anyone realized back then (1963), that years later, most Mr. Machine's bodies would turn yellow with age. Ain't hindsight a wonderful thing! Don - Care to add these images, too? Thanks! .
