The Toyman
Hi everyone, I've just recieved this old Planisphere, it's such a fascinating vintage piece that I cant understand why I was the only bidder? It's made in the UK by Phillips and measures approx 10" in diameter and is made from a mixture of tin, plastic and card. The centre ring rotates and by matching the time and dates up with points on the compass, you can map out all the visible stars throughout the year! A lovely item that I'll keep and hopefully be able to use now and again. It's dated 1959 (the year I was born, which is a nice touch) has anyone seen one of these before?Noel.
