Andyman
I've got a Robot 2000 and a Space Walkman I want to practice surgery on. One doesn't want to spin and the other doesn't want to open it's doors. I've got both head/shoulder assemblies off no problem but I don't know where to go from here. I've searched the board but couldn't find any step by step description of dismantling this type of bot. Can somebody point me in the right direction? Eagle
Andy,,remove the front next. Just pry both sides open then remove. The door not opening is a lever in front and below. It has slipped out of an activation tab. To remove the lower rotating portion you have to bent four tabs around the circumference of the rotating plate. Most likely the gear is split in the 90 Degree gear box. That gear is a bi#ch to replace or repair. I'll send photos when I get home tonight. These thing are so violent when they operate. They self destruct.

Eagle
Nice job Ken !! Now I don't have to take photo's tonight. The gear I'm Referring to that is a bugger to replace is the lower gear that drives the articulating shaft to the legs. On two bots I had to start with a straight shaft, Install the gear then bend the shaft to the original angles. :angry2: Not easy. The gear you showed [if bad ] is a walk in the park. ;) The info you provided should get Andy on the move. Once again , nice job.

Once again , nice job.Mark, when that leg actuating axle shaft gear goes bad, I get a Robot 2000 or a space walkman and carve it out and replace the whole shaft and gear as needed. $10 - $15 bucks is worth far less than the time of trying to replace the nylon gear and then re-bend the shaft! YIKES!
