Kilroy Posted February 23, 2008 Share Posted February 23, 2008 Does anybody have a source of wire for toys preferably in colours?I have been looking for 22 or 24 gauge 2 conductor stranded wire, sheathed together rather than 2 wires that are twisted together. Even twisted wire, I have only been able to find red & Black, would really like to find green. This is mostly for use between the remote battery box and the toy. robothut Posted March 20, 2008 Share Posted March 20, 2008 If you buy white wire you can tint the wire with automotive vinyl spray paint. I have foun that at the dollar stores you can by a battery operated door bell that comes with a nice lenth of 22 gauge zip type wire, its nicer (heavier) than the supper thin 24 to 26 gauge wire you find on the dollar store remote control cars. I tinted some wire this way once for RobotHunter and it worked fine. Normal paint will not work as it will stay sticky for life, but the vinyl spray is flexable and does dry.
