Strenco St-1, How's It Come Apart?

:) To work on the Strenco ST-1, to fix the spark, or repair bent legs or body parts, or worse (broken mainspring), you can drop the entire action out and down from the bottom of the body.

You must first carefully remove the backpack. Reach up under the back with a tool and pry the tabs enough to pull the backpack off. Then you can pry the tabs holding the action from the body back and the chassis will come down and out.

Hint: some of these that no longer spark may still have the flint intact, -the abrasive wheel may simply need to be cleaned with a small wire brush. Of course if the flint is worn out it will need to be replaced. I believe that I remember that it is a slightly larger diameter than some of the common flints, so you may definitely need to put a bit of cement around the new flint when inserting it into the hole.

Bent parts can be straightened with needle nosed pliars or by prying and bending back into shape with whatever little tool laying around that gets the job done. A droplet of oil on the gears will make him run like new, (but not on the flint wheel). Get all of your work done the first time before folding over the tabs to reassemble. Remember, you only want to open and close any tin toy robot one time only or the tabs get weak and may break! Good luck, -Larry7
