I seem to remember the inflatable part being red -- I never knew they made it in blue, as well. Very cool.

I love how the toy features inflatable oxygen tanks, but has two giant, gaping holes in the helmet itself. :)

Here's a 1953 Toytime retail catalog sighting for this helmet with one one of the nicest photos depicting the toy that I've seen in awhile.

The dated cover:

This page, specifically:

There are some Remco walkie-talkies pictured also. I'll start a separate thread for those, as they are "new" to the Timeline.

I have all three of the Remco items featured -- both sets of walkie talkies and the space gun. Didn't have dates for them, so this is great!

Here are the two pics:

I had no idea that Remco was that prolific in the early 50's. It's very difficult to find info on Remco.

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Remco was a toy company founded in the 1940s that was best known for toys marketed and sold in the late 1950s and 1960s like the Johnny Reb Cannon and Mighty Matilda Atomic Aircraft Carrier. The slogan was "Every Boy Wants a Remco Toy...and so do girls."[1] Remco was founded by two cousins: Ike Heller and Saul Robbins. The name Remco comes from the two words "Remote Control". In the mid-60's, Remco acquired several licenses for popular culture acts such as the Beatles, Monkees, Munsters, Lost in Space and Batman.

In 1964, Remco was acquired by Azrak-Hamway International, Inc. (AHI), a toy company, in New York, NY. In 1997, Jakks Pacific acquired Child Guidance and Remco from Azrak-Hamway International.

Here is a vid of the Topper plant.

Hey Mark, did I miss something? You were talking about Remco and then referenced the video from Topper corp. Are they related?
