MaxPower
To my knowledge, there have been 25 different diecast mini robots released so far, including all the regular robots, the so-called 'Secret' chase robots, and the promotional robots from the Osaka Toy Shows, plus one that may or may not belong here. Below is a complete inventory to date, followed by photos of the robots themselves. These stand about 2 to 3 inches tall, and were released in 3 waves, in 3 different boxes (I'll post box photos later too). Enjoy! I don't know if it was a prototype for one that was later determined to be too much trouble or expense to put into production or what, but it's the same scale and material as all the others, and features the same level of detail, so my guess is that it belongs with the group. If anyone knows anything more about it, please e-mail me at Toysurfers(AT)aol(DOT)com and enlighten me. Thanks! robothut
Man O man who would have thought there were so many variations of these little guys! Good job Chuck.
MaxPower
Got an update on the little diamond planet robot -- it's RESIN! Not diecast as I had thought/hoped. (Thanks, Steve!) I knew of the vinyl versions, but did not realize someone had done this little resin version too. Maybe someday there WILL be a diecast mini of it, but not yet, apparently. MaxPower
A talented friend made me a nice plexiglass display case for the collectionand I thought ya'll might like to see it. The top shelf displays the threeboxes (one for each volume/series) face forward, the second shelf isall the chrome 'Secret' robots (my favorites), the third shelf is all ofthe remaining 'Secret' robots plus all the Toy Show exclusives, thenext two shelves hold all the regular robots, and the last shelf showsthe back of all three boxes. The sides and bottom are black plexiglass, the back is mirrored, andthe top is clear to allow light to shine down into the case. There is adoor in front that slides out to the right. The case cost me $150 whichis actually less than I paid for just the silver/burgandy Robby! Morbius
Max Power sent Kelly this entire set of these for Christmas 2006 (she was 10 years old, an Alphadromer herself), as a gift from ALL the Alphadromers of the time. We'll never forget that, every time I visit the robot room I can't help but take another look even to today. Story is: She'd been sent a gift of the black Mechanized mini Robot by Oz a few months before (wonderful of you, Oz!). I then noticed the chrome version on ebay soon after and it wasn't until Chuck saw who the 'buyer' was for that chrome version he's listed for sale, he then offered to send her ALL the others along with the one I purchased from him. A few later ones were added as well over the years as we discovered them, and a couple of different ones we picked up at Botstocks from Gernot, a Toys Cafe version or two. Thanks, Chuck!
