This 1979 "unidentified" catalog page shows the Mattel version of Sir Galaxy. I have this robot and it's box in my collection. Both the box and the remote controller for the toy carry a 1979 date on them.

Sir Galaxy was originally produced by I.T.C. (International Topper Corporation) in 1978. I.T.C. was eventually shortened to Topper Toys. Again, having this version in my collection as well, I can attest to the fact that the remote control unit is dated 1978. There are differences in battery placement and access panels between the two variations. The remote controllers vary slightly in button placement, too.

Here's a related Timeline post for this 1978 I.T.C. version as spotted in a Spiegel Christmas Catalog:

The other robot depicted in this ad is called Starman 80. I am unfamiliar with this particular "blow-up" bodied robot. I know John Rigg has a number of these inflatable robots in the Hut. Perhaps, he can shed some light on the manufacturer.

John...?

What's odd is that the drawings and photo of Sir Galaxy used in this Mattel based advertising, are of the I.T.C. (Topper Toys) version from 1978. Mattel relocated all the battery compartment doors to the rear of the robot, making for a sleeker looking version.

Thanks for adding the scans, Randy. ;)
