Joe K.
Another nugget from William C. Gallagher's Modern Toys From Japan, page 7: A reprint of a Masudaya Trade Journal Ad from August 1952. There are three rocket ships shown as line drawings. They are:Space Ship No. X-5 - See Future Toys, page 179, item #314. Note that in the trade ad, the names of the Space Ship X-2 and Space Ship X-5 are mis-matched with their respective drawings. Otherwise, the line drawings in the ad match the photos of the toys themselves in Future Toys, exactly.
Fineas J. Whoopie
Here's the ad from page 7 of Modern Toys. Hopefully this will be clear enough.
Fineas J. Whoopie
Thanks to Dirk and Gernot who tipped me off about this piece, I just picked up this seldom seen box for the X-6 rocket from the room trading prior to the Chicago Toy Show. In addition to the standard Trade Mark Modern Toys JAPAN, the box is marked-PATENT No. 1614 - 1791 - 6532AndREGISTRATION OF ASSOCIATION No.
