Rare Dan Dare Rocket Gun Variation

The Dan Dare Rocket Gun is based on the US Plastics Space Patrol Gun. Merit used the design even though it bears no resemblance to any of the guns in the Dan Dare comic strips. It comes in three colours: black (the most common) followed by silver then copper. None of them are especially rare. 

 

Some years ago in the pre internet days a friend struggled though blizzard conditions to visit an auction. He was one of the few to make it and the lucky attendees had it all to themselves. He had stumbled on the old samples of a 1950s toy rep. To give an idea, one of the pieces was the Tudor Rose Space Clicker Gun, a gun that makes the Pyrotomic look common.  One other toy was the Dan Dare Rocket Dart Gun. When he looked in the box he found a red version, a completely unknown colour.

@Brian..  The Graphics are really fantastic on the box! I see the black and silver are already in the data base, someone should add the red. It would be a nice addition since there haven't really been any new additions since last September.
