Must be because it's out of focus (that's my story and I'm sticking to it). Ā Can anyone tell me exactly what it is? Any question thatĀ I can't google drives me crazyĀ Thanks.Ā Ā The way it looks in the pictureĀ reminds me of the villain car in Ford Vs Ferrari. Porsche 917 similar to Ferrari & Ford GT 40 but from around 1970. Steve McQueen droveĀ one in Lemans

Fineas J. Whoopie
Wow. Besides all the astounding Yamashita (I believe) hand made pieces, the two that I covet the most are the Technofix saucer and the Mechanical Martian. The box for the Martian is insanely rare. And over the top desirable in my opinion.

Fineas J. Whoopie
I've always loved the X-505 box. When I had one, the art style and the rear sparkling image reminded me of the art on a brick of firecrackers. And I agree with Marcy - the X-300 rocket is so cool on it's own but the fact that it is a tin litho version of the Pyro X-300 is just so cool. Can anyone post a side by side of the Pyro plastic and the tin versions?
robert
Well, Marcy, Oz and Gernot took some fantastic pictures and now it's time for my contribution. Such an amazing weekend! Oz, Christi and Andrew were all gracious hosts and made the visit a joy that went beyond those incredible toys, but hey, those toys.....!!

robert
We spent hours there, but it all went by so quickly I still can't wrap my head around this collection. It is a profound tribute to the art of Japanese tin toy creativity. Not to neglect the contributions of stateside toymakers likeĀ Marx, Hasbro, Pyro, Stevens, etc, but nothing can truly top the mechanical innovations in tin toy manufacture that the Japanese achieved in 50's - 60's. Just my humble opinion of course.
