It's funny ,,in the last 4 yrs since I retired several people have ask the question. Since you retired,,what do you do ? Build Bird Houses ? Bird houses ? So ,,just in case anyone ask that ever again,,I designed and built a Bird house.

1986 Vermont Casting Defiant. . Appropriate . 😊 Thanks to marketplace ,it's extremely cost effective to heat the house.  People have trees down constantly  . Post ads wanting them removed. I had cut, split and stacked 4 cord by April.  7 Months is enough seasoning once it's split.  2 yrs ago,,I capitulated and bought an electro hydraulic splitter. For the Gnarly locust and elm.

I did the same 🙂   Much easier on the back.
We're up to our ears in Ash around here - the Emerald Borer tore through them.

Previous to their arrival, Ash splitting was quite easy - but the damage caused odd, inner re-growth, weird energy re-directed - in an effort to survive.
I don't think I could ax or maul split any serious amount of Ash now - tangly, tearing, messed up wood.
Still burns like it always has, but it's sad to see them all go.

Yeah, the Emerald Ash Borer bug tore through Michigan, too.
