Ranger
Started another project today that may eventually be a tin spaceship.…if it works out ok, who knows? It could go pear shaped at any time.

Ranger
Not done anything with this project since I started it. Had a look at it this afternoon, doesn’t look great at the moment but if it works out it might look okay eventually. Always looks a bit ragged until the blue protective plastic is peeled off, then I can level things up. There is a motor in it now. Need to get this section sorted then look at the making the cockpit and then the engine and maybe a fin on the top and maybe an antenna too. Oh, and wheels of course. Lots to do, if I carry on with it that is.
David Kirk
How are you getting the crisp edges on the bumps?

Ranger
Thanks! I haven’t looked at the project for a while as my daughter was home from Australia for 5 weeks but she has gone back now. So, I had a go at making the nose cone, it’s not too bad for the first one as getting the dimensions so it would fit onto the body and the tabs to line up was a bit tricky. Still lots to do on it so it will be quite a while before it’s finished. It’s too hot in my workshop right now so I will go back to it when it’s cooler during the week. K-9
Pretty cool Paul, the detailing is excellent! Any plans to add fins?
Ranger
Thanks. I was at one point indeed considering putting some fins on it but the clockwork motor is not very powerful and the spaceship is already quite heavy. All made of copper sheet except for the wheels. I am worried that if I add much more weight it will barely move! You never know though. I don’t know from the last time I went to make a bit more of it to the next what I might add, remove or change.
