Nick Danger
Good morning Alphadromers, About two weeks ago, someone auctioned off two Stevens Neutron Blasters on eBay. I steered clear of the auctions for three reasons: 1. The simple fact that the same seller had two of these at the same time. 2. The condition on both was pristine. 3. One of them had a gold-tinted chrome, something I've never seen on a Neutron Blaster before (the Atomic Jet, yes, but never the Neutron Blaster). I've only been in this hobby for a few years, and I still tend to err on the side of caution. I was wondering if anyone else had any opinions about these toys. https://www.ebay.com/itm/224865830626?hash=item345b0c46e2%3Ag%3A3LYAAOSwFMFiID-f&nma=true&si=m0W6gaoB1rV87E2%2FBlmw8g%2FUCi8%3D&orig_cvip=true&nordt=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557 https://www.ebay.com/itm/224865830987?hash=item345b0c484b%3Ag%3AfkIAAOSwO9xiID-2&nma=true&si=m0W6gaoB1rV87E2%2FBlmw8g%2FUCi8%3D&orig_cvip=true&nordt=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557
Brian..
Points 1 and 2 wouldn't overly concern me. The gold finish is the interesting feature. Judging from the photos, they certainly look authentic. I notice that the silver chrome version has a silver firing mechanism but the gold chrome has a bare metal finish. I think it would be difficult to respray either of them in a way that would fool a high end collector up close.
