"HO Scale" Bubble Dome Plastic Space Cars

Anyone know much about these? I am fairly certain they originated from West Germany pre-1960, these four marked Hong Kong.

Yet again, sincere apologies if I'd missed these entries to the Space Plastics database previously! Am hooked on these things, I always go for the smaller or mini toy pieces and these are perfect. The four copies above appear to be this type of product here:

Current stash with carded LMR set. The three to the right (starting at the quarter) are the German made specimens, the rest all marked Hong Kong with the German markings visibly scratched off. By my eye the German cars are somewhat nicer made including rolling better. All three German cars have white wheels/axles, all the Hong Kongs have black wheels/axles.
