Tinplate6
Dunno, John...it just looks like a modified store mannikin to me. Then they show a guy dressed as a robot. I think Mr. Musk is just pulling the wool over our eyes.
robothut
Yes it true they do not have anything yet, these videos are to find people that want to sign up too work on the project. Given all the things Mr. Musk has done that no one else every has before. I think that if he can get a team of people together then this will happen. Its years down the road. If I was younger I would try like hell to get on the team. What a ride it would be, no matter how it turns out.
Andyman
Why have none of these companies come up with anything resembling Robert the Robot?
Eagle
I'm with Andy, why not build cool robots..I think robotics of this proportion are stalled with the power sources so limited . Boston Dynamics was even using gasoline engines in the dogs. The secret is artificial muscle ..Something operating on millivolts all day long on a cheeseburger and fries...Hydraulics and servo motors consume too much energy and with a low power to weight ratio. robothut
You hit the nail on the head. Tesla thinks they can do the job because of there power management and batteries and there sensors they have developed. We will see what they come up with in the next 2 or 3 years. Should be interesting if nothing else.
