LION ANNUAL CAPTAIN CONDOR

This past Christmas my daughter gave me a space cover book 1958 LION ANNUAL, a British publication I'm sure Brian is quite familiar with. They have all sorts of stories but feature some in color such as Captain Condor which were also published in comic form.  I really like these because they could easily be 30s Buck rogers style although 20 years later. Here are some of the annuals  and the complete story of 8 pages. Feel  free to add Captain Condor material or other  LION covers which have mixed graphics I didn't include like the robot Archie. I'm sorry but no matter what I do the pages of the story don't come up in order. Jut go the the page number at the bottom of each page to read in order 49-56.

I've reorganised the pages. Phil.

A wonderful sci-fi comic strip, and I have many of the old comics from the early 1950s when Captain Condor was on the front page.  He was a rival to Dan Dare in the Eagle, but never achieved the same popularity.

Thanks, Brian. In comics, I always look forward to the splash panels like the one on page 56.  So much detail and a lot happening. The artist obviously  liked to draw figures. I had an instructor in college who was a well known illustrator from earlier 1900s. His pen and ink line drawings were exceptional.

Hmmm...I wonder if Gerry Anderson was familiar with these.

That one issue reminds me of Steve Zodiak & Robert.

Ahhh...the 50's, when Spaceships had chrome....

You are one lucky man, I read some of these on DVD's I bought off eBay, but nothing beats an actual comic book in hand.
