Ro-Man “Grape Ape Edition”

So thanks to Roboto’s mention of it quite awhile back in his recurring thread about upcoming toys, I have had the Deluxe Robot Monster figure on preorder from Monsters In Motion since January. Though the ship date has been delayed several times, it now says October, I was thrilled to discover the toy is now available directly from HOP toys via their eBay store. Lucky enough I managed to score one with a pretty great custom purple one off paint job. Thus my dubbing it the “Grape Ape Edition.”

I have kept my preorder in with MIM as HOP toys has written me that this version differs from the standard that is currently available in that it will have brown highlights painted on the body to make it more reminiscent of the poster.

I wish I had known about the Kickstarter for this toy as three donors received a really amazing (way cooler than Grape Ape) custom painted toy.

Here is my Grape Ape followed by a couple of screen shots of the customs that were offered as a premium for the Kickstarter. Again, I am not so lucky as to have one of these babies.

Thanks for sharing this one Roboto!! Say what you will about the film. But I think this is a pretty great character and a cool toy as well.
