Banzai975
I have a "Space Razer" that I can't find in the database. I remember playing with it in the 80's but it could be older. (Who knows what my dad let me play with). It is labeled as "Friction Powered" with sparking actions and a ratata sound. Made in China. Any guesses on the date, manufacturer or a different name? Roboto
Fantastic looking Razer!!
Brian..
It's a version of the X-Ray gun that I haven't seen before - it has a distinctive section at the back. Each time it's reproduced someone seems to add a new back end. These Chinese releases are often given hopeless names from a database point of view, like the "Sparking Space Pistol". It's amazing that a Japanese mistranslation produced the word "RAZER" and it's still going strong 30 years later.
Tinplate6
The Space Razer is one of the most classic designs...and the most copied. This is the version I have... And yes, it came with the brass rings on the emitter, in fact, it was a boxed set of two guns. Then there is the lesser known Razer Rifle... As well as the copies such as the gold chromed Rubina New Gun... The Space Pilot X Ray Gun... And, this unnamed tin gun from China...

Golddalek
I love the rifle...Looks like something from an Irwin Allen Sci Fi show. mmm..Fantastic Voyage comes to mind.
Brian..
Thanks for the new additions for the database, Brady - the tin Chinese and the chrome Indian gun. I've also added Banzai's. Here's a similar bagged version on Ebay. It's made by NK of China. NK is in the database but it's a Hong Kong company. It looks as though they have switched production to mainland China. Or is Made in Hong Kong being replaced by Made in China?
Brian..
Any more variations to add? Space Pilot X-Ray Guns
tikidoc
Hey Brian, I found this version. I didn't see it in the database, but, me not seeing something doesn't always mean it's not there. Cheers

tikidoc
I just found this on Ebay. I am not sure if it is in the database, I have not seen it there. It seems to be another variation. These are the only pictures available. No real information to be found other than it was made in Hong Kong. It does have a barrel similar to SPARKING SPACE GUN - TAKATOKU - JAPAN. Brian..
This is, I believe, a Takatoku space gun that was much copied. The removable telescopic sight makes it distinctive. There should be another part that fits onto the barrel. http://alphadrome.net/data/displayimage.php?album=search&cat=0&pid=5016#top_display_media
tikidoc
This looks like yet another copy of that gun. This one does not have the holes where the screws are inserted. I appreciate the information.
