robothut
So to test the cycloidal 12:1 gearbox I decided on a simple mobile base that could be programed to turn. I also thought it would be fun to make it a target type robot that you could try to hit the photo sensor in the head dome and hear a sound to indicate a hit. First I needed a base plate with On OFF switch.
robothut
The motor gearbox unit gets glued to the base. The Cycloidal drive has a double cam added to it and a outside drive wheel is added to both sides of the TT gear motor. I also added a clicker sound unit to the right wheel drive. robothut
Then for a body I grabbed a tank file from thing-I-verse and modified the hell out of it. It would have been faster and less work to have just designed a body from scratch since the file I picked was not really designed to be printed. I added flashing gun lights and a blue LED to the eye holes in the head. The eye holes are left open to let the target sound effect come out.
