The comic strip version is coming along, have to wait for paint to dry so that slows up things more than the 3d print time does. Looking fantastic John. The red detailing adds a lot to the overall aesthetics.

robothut
After I shot the video I thought screw it , paint the top wings chrome and see what it looks like.
robothut
Started a second one with the TM 3071 on the sides and few other details.
robothut
The motor mechanics are super compact. large cams slide on the motor drive shafts, then the cam linkage arms over the cams. That all slides into the body. The hex leg axles will get glued into the cam linkage arms.
Brian..
I wondered how you'd transferred the motion to the legs. I don't think I'd have come up with that cam in a million years. Another clever design. The comic book version has real pre-war charm.
Andyman
I like the chrome highlights better, too. Very cool, John!
Phil R
Perfect! Love the red on the figure which gives continuity. highlight silver is great. I would also add silver to feet. LOVE IT!

robothut
Brian. Here are some junk parts that show how the gearmotor and the cam / cam linkage fit in the frame. The frame holds all the parts together. Then the axle is glued into the cam linkage. In the flying torpedo the motor frame is part of the torpedo body. Tinplate6
Neat design, John...the red and yellow robot version has a very Marx toy vibe to it.
