Brian..
Recently John posted the low-down on the linear-shuffle mechanism used in later robots. I had to give it a go. It's certainly a simple and elegant mechanism and I had fun playing with the design. I can see why so many companies turned to it because it offers a reliable and cheap body frame that can easily be modified. Slowly my build took shape and I started to improvise. It turned into the B2M Soviet Robot. I appear to be obsessed with Russian builds at the moment. The design means that the arms swing along with the legs, not in the natural alternating way - so it's right leg/right arm, left leg/left arm, a bit like a lunatic. I had to improvise the rear of the robot. The arms are a tad big, but the overall look is there. 3D printing can bring alive forgotten robots. Mick_B
That's cool Brian! I think a series of soviet robots is needed. I spotted these when I went googling to learn where the B2M design came from. they're probably known to you, but new to me. what will you show us next? RoboDerby
Another beauty of a build Brian. This also reminds me of some of Jiro Aizawa’s robots. http://cyberneticzoo.com/robots/1957-humanoid-robots-and-toy-robots-jiro-aizawa-japanese/

K-9
Another forgotten classic brought back to life! I love the wire-look antenna and the dark red color. I agree regarding the arms; they'd look better proportion wise if slimmed down slightly. The black 'backpack' (transmitter/receiver) is a nice touch, especially with the added detail. The addition of a small flashing LED to the backpack would look great...
Phil R
Great job, Brian. These offbeat robots have a lot of retro charm.
