ANZinSpace
These figures from Moldex are made of a hard plastic and were most likely the original figures released in the 1950s. Gold Green Silver Blue Red Bronze Mixed gold and red
Brian..
I love Australian space toys - in fact I love all 1950s space plastic- but they're so hard to obtain in UK and Australian dealers are often unwilling to ship "sympathetically" to the UK. The customs here are very unsympathetic, so it's uneconomical to buy individual figures. I was lucky enough to buy a couple of batches of early hard plastic space figures, all complete with their helmets, here in Blighty. I was informed that they were shop stock, though many of the helmets have stress cracks. Fortunately they were not catalogued too well. The law of averages worked against me but I managed one complete set of six figures in that delicious metallic green brittle plastic. I noticed just two helmet types, though I know that ANZ has identified three. Given the size of the batch I'm pretty certain that the helmet with flats on the sides of the helmet (ie the shorter part) were not fitted to hard plastic figures.
