D cell batteries

Random post but maybe of interest to some of you.

I noticed that CVS D cells are about 1-2mm shorter than standard alkaline batteries. (See photo)

Great for those more fragile plastic toys such as my M27 Moon Explorer.

But the weight is still a problem, especially in Horikawa robots among others, also the burst of energy from alkaline batteries will shorten the life of vintage incondesent light bulbs

Yes Dollar Store D cells are smaller and weight less then Energizers great for most robots, however I only use D cell Energizers for MH plus other smokers which is needed for great smoke action.

I am using some rechargeble D type batteries, they are light weight and can have if you need lots of power.

Thank you to share :-)
