robothut
I thought it would be fun to take the vintage SONICON electro mechanical design that was used in toy cars, busses , space ships and build it in to a robot. The vintage SONICON design detects a whistle sound and controls the toy, and it does this with out any IC's, transistors or microphones. It uses a tuned enclosure and vibrating contact system tied to a sensitive relay like my reed / clock coil relay design or the new meter relay design I have posted to you tube. you can find links to them on you tube in the comments of these videos. I build one that works perfectly. But it was a lot of work so if I make more of the Golden Sonic robots I will use more common electronic of the time. But I will keep the Helmholtz resonator design. robothut
I printed the robot in silky gold filament, I think it looks great ! I will be doing a video on how the Helmholtz resonator works so check back for updates.
