robothut
I thought I would try 3 Ultimaker bushings in place of the ball bearing units on the heat bed of a Prusa. Wow. Now its quite even with the rapid bed movments.
roboz
Nice Job John , why is it on the foam ? does that reduce vibration noise ? Guess I have to take my MK2 out of mothballs & send to you for this fix ; )
robothut
My MK3 is on the kitchen counter and the counter is like a giant sounding board, so the foam helps keep the machine quite. A hollow plywood counter top is not a ideal location for any mechanical device. The bearing will not help your MK2 as you do not have silent drivers for your stepper motors like the MK3 does. Yes they would remove one sound but you still have the stepper motor sounds so no point.
