Action Robot
Hey guys, I am getting ready to work with some repro robots, and was looking for any advice on how to best disassemble/reassemble them without breaking too many tabs. Any advice y'all have on tools, methods, etc., would be greatly appreciated. cheers, Dave
robothut
bend the tabs slowly rule number 1, rule number two bend the tabs slowly ! If your prown to slipping and scratching then use a wood or plastic screw driver shaped tool that you can make yourself. If your hands are steady then just use a small flat blade screw driver to start the tab bending, once its up enough you can use needle nose plyers to control the rest of the bend. Fineas J. Whoopie
As slowly as humanly possible. If you are bending several tabs try bending each tab a tiny bit at time and rotate to the other tabs. Bend the first tab a tiny amount, then the next etc. until you get back to the first tab. Repeat. This guards against frustration at how slow it's going and allows the tabs to "cool down" or recover between each turn. Good luck!
