Cheers all!

I was able to knock a desired robot off of my list.

Delivered today - all original, minus the dome of course... otherwise, I would have had to trade all of my collection for it.   :)

The remote was separate from the robot - and the wiring under the backpack was cracked.

Hmmm.  To look at and admire as what it was and what it might be... or crack him open?   Delicately...

More pics to come - the surgery was tricky, but it was fun.

I would supect that this guy hadn't run in many, many years...

When I jumped him, he would not even budge.

Eventually, I was able to get some slooow walking with 3 volts hooked up.  But, this is a 1.5v robot.

Much cleaning - quite a bit of contact cleaner... quite a bit better.

But not quite right.   The motor would fluctuate up and down with steady voltage.

I finally took the comutators out, cleaned & lightly re-bent... back together.  Blam.

He's a rejuvenated badass, litho'd dynamo now!!

No tabs broken.  No beauty marks left.

I left two bits of .66mm copper wire in him.

One bit holding his wiring more secure - I wasn't happy with how the fragile old wiring was rubbing against the sharp tin.

The other bit is wound around the shaft for his left leg... I used it as a spacer that made his legs a bit tighter to make his walk less wobbly.

The gears show very little if any wear. So low miles on this guy !

Right on, John!  I think his wiring likely cracked long ago.

The rubber nubs on the bottom of his feet have hardened, so he doesn't travel far - not that he needs to.   Do you suggest anything for those nubs?

A great repair and nice photos and video.
