Joe K.
As seen in this 1980 Bandai catalog: From my own collection: The arms can be positioned either bent (which allows the robot to simply walk along while they rotate), or straight (which allows the robot to flip over when the arms touch the ground). Hence the name: FLIPPERS. On the bottom of the left leg is the Bandai logo; on the bottom of the right leg MADE IN SINGAPORE. The Tomy Pocket 'bot is included for size comparison. I came across Gernot's variation with white arms, red legs and a lighter shade of blue: I wonder if this is a Bandai toy or a knockoff? Gernot, might you know?
