Joe K. Posted March 11, 2003 Posted March 11, 2003 http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...69&category=616 Fourth row of photos from the top. See Morita, page 188 &/or Vintage Toys, page 7. I've emailed the seller inquiring about any wind-up robots that might also be in this 115 page catalog.Lilliput, perhaps? The seller informs me that Lilliput is not in this catalog, however there is another robot related toy...See following post below.
Joe K. Posted March 11, 2003 Author Posted March 11, 2003 Does anyone else think this wooden robot looks like Lilliput? If you subtract the height of the base he's on, I'll bet he measures in at about 6" as well. Could this be the possible inspiration the Japanese used to produce Lilliput?
Joe K. Posted February 12, 2006 Author Posted February 12, 2006 Here's another sighting of the Buck Rogers Rocket Police Patrol. This time in a 1935 Sears Christmas catalog: http://cgi.ebay.com/1935-SEARS-CHRISTMAS-C...1QQcmdZViewItem And, specifically, this page: http://i7.ebayimg.com/03/i/06/3a/31/b3_12.JPG ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Nice to see that Robot Questioner again. I'd wondered where that photo was...
Fineas J. Whoopie Posted February 15, 2006 Posted February 15, 2006 I can't read the text very well but it looks like they were offering flint replacements to go with the Buck Rogers rocket for 10 cents? What do you think Joe?
Brian.. Posted June 25, 2015 Posted June 25, 2015 On sale as early as October 1934. Here's an advert from December 1934 in the Brooklyn Daily Eagle:
