White Remote Robot

Morbius

Recommended Posts

Merry Christmas to me from Laurie and Kelly. I have the blue version but have never seen this white one in nearly 40 years of collecting so it's very nice to add this especially boxed, thank you Morbius family!

Has anyone seen this one before? No maker on box.

No maker on box, nothing noted on bottom. No maker on robot.

Box is quite fragile, it's no wonder I didn't save the box I had in '81 when I purchased the blue one.

John, I believe you have the blue one in your pics of the 'hut'. Does yours still walk and 'talk'? I recall when I purchased the first one new from store he walked very strong and the strip of metal that makes the squeal sound from his mouth was strong as well. Now they're old they are very weak on both counts.

The opening mouth feature is unusual but in retrospect it's sort of surprising it wasn't used on more robots. Congrats Morbius!

Great robot Mile, wish I'd get hints like that from eBay! After looking at the pics again it appears his feet are on backwards...but they're correct to the box.

Here are the feet of both versions. Really different step-over design. Thanks for mentioning the feet, never thought about really looking at them that carefully. Noticing stuff like this keeps us on our toes here, thanks for the investigative thought Tinman.

You're welcome Ken.

I just watched this robot through the 9 days of the auction and didn't bid, the shipping alone was $50 and figured it would go up high so why bother anyway. That shipping amount and possible duty charges kept me away.

Up until the last few minutes of the auction there was very little action on it so I figured I'd throw a (somewhat crazy) number out there on a whim at literally the last minute and was barely countered by anyone so it went surprisingly cheap. A few weeks later, an item I wanted was up on e-bay by the same seller. That one I thought would go cheap and it went for nearly $500. You never know how it'll end.
