ANZinSpace Posted November 18, 2014 Share Posted November 18, 2014 Well it's been a long while since I've been here (largely due to being unemployed for 10 months last year and so not buying stuff). One thing I did buy was a pair of Australian made "Space Phones" which I've put in quotes as they weren't listed as space phones but seem to match the ones I've seen from other countries. I'm still hunting up any newspaper adverts that would show a set of "space phones" being sold here but so far all I get are written descriptions no pictures or drawings. The phones themselves were made by Moulded Products Australasia under their Playmate Toys range. I also wanted to check with people about a Jupiter spaceship made in 1954. I found this advert Which based on the measurements seems a match for the HWN Jupiter rocket But I'm wondering if there were any other "Jupiter" spaceships that would fit the description in the advert and were around in either 1953 or 1954. Racerxc70 Posted November 26, 2014 Share Posted November 26, 2014 In August of 1980 while in the USAF on a three week joint services TDY in the land down under our group was at Williamtown RAAF base, about 17 kilometers ( then) from a city called New Castle have you ever been there? The people were just the best, and we drank a lot of Tooeys beer. I especially loved the dress code (or lack of one) at the beach, here is our group photo.
