Nick in NY
Recently, I put fresh alkaline batteries in one of my repro Mechanized Robots to check how badly those nylon gears were slipping. I let this one run a bit longer than usual and noticed it appeared to be running faster and faster (meaning the little shuffle it would do trying to walk and the speed of the pistons moving up and down and rings turning). Just when I decided it was running way too fast and went to turn it off, the motor jammed and it stopped. Anyone ever experience this? Were the batteries too strong even for the Osaka repro? Roboto
I only use alkaline on smoking robots. I use standard grade batteries on the rest its seems that fresh alkaline battery gives that super start and run. Alkaline batteries are a little larger in size and they weigh more.
