SERIOUSBOB
This is so typical of E-Bay, people selling items they really know nothing about. The backing card may very well be from 1935, the figure is from 1955 & obviously hand painted. http://www.ebay.com/itm/HOLY-GRAIL-Buck-Rogers-Action-Figure-Original-Cardboard-Stock-1935-Only-200-Made-/291204949368?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item43cd2ae578
Joe K.
. Looks and sounds like a DIY. The backing card's artwork is from a Whitman's Big Big Book cover. Lt. Dick Calkins name is misspelled on the backing card. Here's an interesting web site I came across in researching this piece: http://caferoxy.blogspot.com/2013/11/first-buck-rogers-film-re-visited-once.html Be sure to watch the eight minute 'very first' Buck Rogers film. . Brian..
Good call, Bob. It had me confused. to say the least. It looks so good! I wish it were genuine. Archer figures never looked better. Tinman
I was watching this myself, knowing the Archer figure was an add-on; as SeriousBob said, they don't date to 1935. The card is interesting though, in both examples it looks like a word(?) prior to "Buck Rogers" at the bottom of the card has been covered over. ejpetrie
And Dick Calkins never owned a Childrens Bookstore either. The whole thing is BS.
