robothut
Based on the 1950's NANDO pneumatic robot I thought it would be fun to convert a wind up Planet Robot to a Pneumatic bulb control. So I took a very old pneumatic bulb camera shutter release unit and put it in a planet robot. here is a you tube link that shows both the finished robot and the bench test bot. http://youtu.be/jh_DvgJEmEg here is link to build page on my Robothut site. http://www.robothut.robotnut.com/PneumaticPlanetRobot.html
robothut
Here is a shot of the inside conversion. I drilled a hole in the leg drive gear and put in a screw to act as a post that I could connect to the pneumatic driver unit. The driver unit is held in place with two springs as that seemed easier than building a metal bracket. there is also a spring used to return the right leg to the forward postion, the pneumatic driver "piston" pushed the left leg forward and the spring returns it.
