robothut
You can also use permanent markers like highlighters and colored sharpies to tint bulbs as I have seen guys do it in the B9 club years ago, then I told them about the krylon spray. but it works. get a wide tip permanent colored marker and that will work. chilli
Thanks Robothut, pity we do not have the Krylon glass stain here, that would have been perfect.
Nick in NY
When I replaced a blown red bulb in a Mechanized Robot with a clear one a few years ago, a red Sharpie quickly did the trick. Still looks great.
chilli
I bought some ebay glass stain waterproof base but the red is weak and orange. But this is the real glass lacquer I was after. Old fashion toxic smelling thinner based stuff, It is the sort of lacquer they would have used on the bulbs originally. "proper" nacker lacquer. The new bulb is on the left. It was the deep intensity of the old colour that I wanted, and this is perfect stuff for the job. And you can see it did the trick for my new little best friend, a beautiful battery remote space trooper. Thanks for everyone's help Chilli
