They've pretty much run their course in popularity and are beginning to turn up at yard sales and Goodwill / Salvation Army stores. I've picked up a few for as little as $.98 each. Take them apart and you will find not one, but two 8-tooth gears; one on the motor shaft; the other inside the gearbox. Both of them have the additional "collar" at the end of one side.
