This initial version with these little yellow wheels was available for only a short time and was replaced with a wheel-less version. Playskool made the change after it was determined that the wheels could be broken if Alphie was accidentally dropped or intentionally smashed onto the ground. The resulting small pieces created a potential choking hazard and lawsuit liability.

Anyone know where I can get a copy of this catalog? Believe it or not, that little boy on the spread is me. Attached is the original box from the 1978 Alphie toy. Apparently they changed the box after the recall, so there must only be a few of these original versions floating around.
