SH MIKE Posted September 9, 2012 Share Posted September 9, 2012 Here is my Rainy Day Saturtday reconstruction. I used a Red R-1 robot body and a Robert Johnson Robot Head. I wired the head and added pin stripes to the arms, (with silver paint for the hands), I found a photo of a real Machine Man and copied the chest decal but I only used the Machine Man name from it. I placed clear packing tape over the chest decal so the paper Machine Man lettering would not fall off. since the paper was (as thick as paper), It looks like the Machine Man wording is pressed into the tin like the other dials. I decided to stop there because I was not trying for an exact look, just some thing better than I had. No Front Switch or D batteries. I did put green gel in the mouth and a light bulb in the mouth but I have no idea what should be there. The R-1 had blinking lights and my Machine Man does as well.
