Cheap homemade silicon molds

Hey all, I posted this link in another thread, but thought it might be of interest to the larger community of builders here . It's a tutorial on how to make silicon molds using hardware store silicon putty and cornstarch or talcum powder...much cheaper and easier to get than the casting kits. I haven't tried the technique yet myself, but it looks like it works pretty well. I'd be interested to hear from anyone who tries, or has tried, this method.

Don't bother, you can't get any detail from the molds and they rip real easy. It's not even as good as the mold making material used for clay. If you plan on using resin for casting, the silicon casting material for resin is the best way to go.
