Radicon Robert the Robot

First I have to say that my pictures suck, the non stobe pics look dark and green and the strobe ones look light glossy and pinkish. The robot is gray.

OK here is Radicon Robert the Robot. A radio controled Robert the robot. The origional base / wheeld rive unit was rusted out so I replaced the rear drive wheels with a motor drive unit from a RC car. The front steering wheels were OK but he linkage was rusted away so I made new linkage and use a new linear servo that I found on line to control the steering. The robot is repainted with a gray wrinkle finnish . The arms are modified old Mr. Mercury arms with some bellows added at the shoulders. The head is from a current repo robot. I added the ear scanner rings from a repo Chief robot man. The eyes alternatly flash. The head is turnable. The chest display has a flashing green light and the belly button has 7 colored flashing LEDs inside. The remote control lets you drive forward, backward and turn left and right. The robot turns best in reverse , alot like the origional robert the robot.

Here is the bottom drive plate. I guess I forgot to take a picture of the top side of the drive plate so that you could see the linear servo steering control set up.

If I had this to do over I would pick a RC drive wheels set up that had one wheel that is free wheeling "non dirive" that way the robot would steer better when going forward.
