The brown color/no nose variation has been Timeline dated to 1975, as seen here:

 

 

I'm beginning to wonder if these "no nose" versions are S.J.M. pieces, not Horikawa.

 

I ask again: Does anyone have the boxes for these? The boxes would confirm the robot's true name and manufacturer.

Saved the picture from the Tin Robot website. The box has the SH trademark (=Horikawa):

In my opinion the "No Nose" robots are an origin Horikawa design. Perhaps later Horikawa versions do have a nose. Or are all the "Nose Robots" coming from Taiwan / Hong Kong?
