Steve's Bots and Rays
It seems appropriate to show these two on the warmest day of the season so far for us- 90! I'm just finishing up these two 'SolarBots' seen here sunning themselves this morning. On the left 'SPF-1000' and on the right 'SB-1'. SPF-1000 uses two solar panels to 'sun' himself up to full charge whereas SB-1 has a solar pack on his back. Both use different interior lighting effects when the sun goes down. More detail photos to follow. Thanks for looking. -Steve

Electric Robot and Son
Steve, Great job, they are both awesome looking. How big are they? Are the bodies made from kitchen cannisters? I am surprised we haven't seen more solar creations. After all no garden should be without a solar powered robot or saucer. I built a solar powered flying saucer and a robot a couple of years ago to put in my son's garden. You can see them in this post: and a video http://www.youtube.com/user/electricrobot1#p/u/9/rNTu9tSttLU I think John Rigg made a bunch of solar lights from Magic Mike robots a few years ago. Maybe we can encourage a few others to give it a try.
Steve's Bots and Rays
Here are some more photos of SPF-1000. He's 14" tall (sitting) and SB-1 is 18" tall with those long legs. Yep, kitchen canisters for the bodies. I like how the colors shift to one another at night in the SB-1. Very calming.
