Phil R
Jim Knower made a really nice small 6" rocket recently. I thought it was a perfect candidate for a diorama. Jim sent it to me for embellishment. I used the wooden base to convert to a the rocket coming out of clouds. I then painted the rocket, added a background/base with Buck Rogers rockets from the balsa wood sets and added a title "Out of the Blue". It has three fins with the bottom 2 yellow. I liked the bright colors used for the rockets throughout the Buck rogers Sundays .
Electric Robot and Son
I really like the bright colors too! It looks like it just flew off the page. It needs a name Phil!

Phil R
You're correct, Mark. I do want the whole fleet. And so far I only have the fifth from top. Is your workshop too cold?
JimK
Fantastic job Phil. You really have a magic eye when it comes to color. The action that you gave it with the new base is 100 times better than the wood base I had on it. You are a master. Mark, this is the kind of thing that happens when ya give a wood lathe to an Alphadromer. The brain doesn't gravitate to tool handles and spindles for practice. I have no doubt that there will be more rockets coming up soon, I just found a bunch of wood down the street (trash day) so who knows what will show up. Andyman
Hey Jim, can we see a close up of that rocket and saucer? Those look pretty cool.
JimK
Hey Andy, The rocket and saucer are not special. Just practice as I learned the ins and outs of the wood lathe. Phil made the small rocket cool. I don't want to hijack Phil's post but here ya go. JimK
Phil R
OK, Jim, now you've opened a can of worms. You only need 6 more. :D My favorite rocket is the great name Cosmostrator from Spaceship to Venus. It's a hard to find model kit and fairly expensive.
