Eagle
I'm working on a project for Phil and it needs sound effects . I have had enough of robbing the cheap sound chips out of Chinese toys. they don't last. We need to find a source of programmable Sound cards. There are a few companies out there that want to sell you the business ,just not the software to record the sounds onto a chip. Hallmark sells cards that can be programmed , but only through an 800 number. There are video's of guys hacking these cards , but they lack the technical steps to do it. Anyone know of a way to record sound effects for installation in ray guns, robs and such ? :ninja:

Eagle
Joe, the guy just called back,,,no light output. I did see a self contained unit that had LED output, but it was motion activated and sounds could not be downloaded from a computer. No big deal, just install a switch to replace the sensor. I guess we could put in a logic gate to activate the light circuit. Here is the auction. They do offer software also. Funny , the software says LED on or Off. Maybe an Audio-Light modulator ?? http://cgi.ebay.com/USB-sound-voice-recording-module-PUSH-BUTTON-/250713285947?pt=Greeting_Cards&hash=item3a5fad253b OR http://www.apogeekits.com/color_organ_light_kit.htm
Grandpa
Eagle, Here is a good source for sound modules, http://www.electronics123.com/ . I have used them in the past and they seem to be a good company. They have several different modules so you should be able to find what you need. JimK
Hey Mark, I missed this post earlier. I think that I know what the project is and it is going to be very cool. Can't wait to see it. A while back I was looking at this set up from Radio Shack. I think that it is on line only because I have never seen it in the store. Don't know anything about it but it may be another choice.
