1963 Rock Em Sock Em Robots Patent Drawings

The Rock em Sock em Robots patent was applided for in 1963 and granted in 1966, our time line shows the toy for sale in 1964. Again if you have good pictures of your Rockem Sockem Robots and there box feel free to add them to the post.

I love how the Marvin Glass patents explain everything! So many patents leave alot to be interpreted.

Amazing stuff John, very interesting to see how much detail goes into a so-called simple plastic toy/game.

Early pointy posts with names on backs and later safety "button" posts and original mail order box, original complete score card pad and assembly instructions. I'd like to get hold of the blue crowd background if anyone has one they'd like to sell.

What no picture of the box being turned in to the crowd background, my origional set cost less than a buck at a junk shop and has no box but I have seen origional boxes that were made to be opened up and have the crowd back ground printed on the carboard.

John, could be that you just unravelled the mystery behind my original set in '66. I'm sure I had the mail order box set (MO5015) because most of our family Xmas shopping was done through the catalogue however I did have the crowd background, the inside of my original box could very well have had the crowd printed on the inside. Thanks for the insight. :)

Thanks John for posting these. I just picked up a set at Joe's during Botstock VII. It is an early model because of the lack of buttons on the posts. The box isn't in that good a shape, but the toy is fantastic, aside from the broken ZING mechanism. Anyway, the peaque an interest in me and I find these fascinating.

Thanks Morbius for the pics as well. My set of course did not come with intructions or score cards...so I may blow up the ones you posted, or if not clear enough for enlargement, I may be able to draw my own...but these will be a HUGE help.

This is truly a great robot toy, and so timely. I am glad I was able to get an orignal other than the recent smaller repop I got, thanks to Joe. These are great John. I look forward to more if you got them.

This is a long shot...but you don't by any chance have the patent drawings for the Remco LIS robot...do you? This being my favorite toy robot, despite it is boring as hell, it would be icing on the cake for the Lost in Space robot collection I have.
