robothut
The patent was filed in 1979 and granted in 1982. I have one in my collection made by BLUE BOX the same company that held the patent. The arms are different on mine and pictures I have seen of another Alphadromers Silver Warrior had the same arms as mine so I am not sure if the robot was sold with the arms shown in the patent or not. The same body was also used on a few variations of the Karate robots. Not in the time line so I do not know when it was actualy first offord for sale. robothut
If you have a version with the same arms as the patent drawings please post them here.
Tinplate6
John, I noticed that this one, and the Computer Robot patent designs are similar, in they both have the same style arms and legs. I think both designs are very interesting.
plasticaugie
Blue box looks like a kit basher company taking a late night cruise through the horikawa-tomy-schaper parts bin. This body is not exactly the karate robot but it is definitely trying to look like one, the other robot's head is the Schaper Tobor.
Dr.Needles
He bears a strong resemblance to the Karate Robot though I find the Silver Warrior a little more menaceing looking. almost a devilish appearance with his horn-like antenae and pointed beard design. I waited years before getting mine just last year on ebay....LOVE him! Just something about his design. His hands are different from the blue print though. They are typical classic robot claws , though the cool thing about them is they open and close with the aid of a spring. He is neat!
