robothut Posted February 2, 2010 Author Share Posted February 2, 2010 Also the same legs and feet were used on the Super Man Mctavish robot!Acording to the internet (so it must be true) this superman robot was from 1953 TV show the run away robot. So now You have to wonder if the legs and feet were made for the TV show in 1953 or if they were first made for the Target Earth Movie in 1953. Either way the card board box type robot seems to have stayed around for the 1962 film Creation of the HUmanoids basicly the same, But there isa good chance that shots of the boxy supman type robot were not shot for the film Creation of the Humanoids and were just stock shoots left over from a screen test or something as they are tied to anything happening in the actual movie.http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0506634/another search says 1958.The "Adventures of Superman" episode called, The Gentle Monster (1958)The great "Professor Pepperwinkle" (Phil Tead) Played an eccentric old manwho has invented a lifelike, gentle robot named "Mr. McTavish McTarget EarthMcLegs."
