UNIVERSAL ROCKET, THE MOON X-1 - MARUSAN - JAPAN



This is an early, iconic space rocket with classic lines. It employs the propeller drive long associated with wind up airship toys of the early 20th century. Silver and red lithographed tin rocket with celluloid prop. Three red tail fins. Porthole detailing. Marked THE MOON around the base. Wind up spinning propeller. The rocket hangs from a line and moves as the propeller rotates. Date? 1950s. Plain box with paper label. The artwork depicts a streamlied rocket that varies considerably from the traditional one in the box. Plain card box with paper lable. SAN
