Super astronaut repair

I have recently purchased a super astronaut that was described as for parts for relatively cheap. Surprisingly enough the helical gear was not broken, but I came across an issue I had never seen before. The piece of metal atop the large gear in the crotch that stops the gear from rotating once it reaches is loose ( yes I have the metal tension piece just removed it so it didn’t break during repair.) Any advice on how to fix this outside of super glue? (Image attached of broken part)
